    Made-to-Order Products

All doors supplied are made to order and manufactured specifically for each individual customer and project. Once production has begun, these goods cannot be resold and are therefore non-returnable unless faulty or not as described.

As a result, we do not accept returns or offer refunds for change of mind, surplus items, incorrect sizes, ordering errors, changes in project requirements, or cancellations after order confirmation, unless the goods are faulty or materially not as described.

This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Over-ordering or ordering incorrect quantities
    • Changes to layouts or designs after ordering
    • Client, builder, or installer errors
    • Project delays, cancellations, or redesigns

    Statutory Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy affects your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

    If your goods are:

    • Faulty
    • Not of satisfactory quality
    • Not fit for purpose
    • Or not as described

You are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with your statutory rights.

If a fault is reported within 30 days of delivery, you may be entitled to reject the goods and receive a full refund, subject to inspection and confirmation of the fault.

    Cooling-Off Period

Under UK law, the standard 14-day cooling-off period for online purchases does not apply to goods made to the consumer’s specification or clearly personalised.

As all units are manufactured to order, the cooling-off period does not apply once manufacturing has commenced.

    Reporting Faults or Issues

All goods must be inspected on delivery and any visible damage or faults must be reported within 24 hours of delivery.

If you believe your goods are faulty or not as described, you must:

    • Contact us promptly with full details and supporting photographs.
    • Allow us the opportunity to assess the issue.
    • Not install or modify any item that you believe to be faulty.

Installing, altering, or cutting units before reporting an issue may invalidate any claim.

    Installation & Handling

We cannot accept responsibility for issues arising from:

    • Incorrect installation
    • Damage during handling or fitting
    • On-site modifications or alterations
    • Installer error or site conditions

Once a door has been installed or altered, it will be deemed accepted unless a manufacturing defect is clearly evident.

    Return of Faulty Goods

Where a return is agreed due to a confirmed manufacturing fault or error on our part:

    • We will advise on return arrangements.
    • Goods must be returned in their original condition where reasonably possible.
    • Remedies will be provided in line with statutory requirements, which may include repair, replacement, or refund.

    Order Acceptance & Manufacturing

Orders are deemed accepted once written confirmation has been issued and payment (deposit or full balance) has been received. At this point, manufacturing is scheduled and the order becomes binding.

  • Care & Maintenance Guide

To keep your Academy Kitchens furniture looking and performing at its best, regular and correct cleaning is essential. All cabinets and doors are manufactured using high-quality materials, including Egger laminate boards for carcases and painted timber, HDF or MDF door constructions, and should be cared for accordingly.

Failure to follow the guidance below may affect product performance and could invalidate warranty claims.

    General Cleaning Advice (All Surfaces)

    • Clean regularly using a soft, damp cloth and a mild household detergent if required.
    • Always wipe surfaces dry after cleaning to prevent moisture build-up.
    • Clean spills immediately, especially around sinks, dishwashers and boiling water taps.
    • Avoid excessive water, steam or prolonged exposure to moisture.
    • Ensure good kitchen ventilation, particularly when cooking.

    Do Not Use

The following must never be used on any cabinet or door surface:

    • Abrasive cleaners or scouring pads
    • Solvents, acetone, bleach or ammonia-based cleaners
    • Steam cleaners
    • Microfibre cloths with abrasive coatings
    • Wax, polish or silicone-based sprays

These products can damage finishes, cause discolouration, and degrade surface coatings.

Egger Laminate Carcases (Internal & External Cabinet Surfaces)

Our carcases are manufactured from Egger laminate-faced chipboard, chosen for its durability and easy-clean properties.

    Cleaning:

    • Use a soft cloth with warm water and mild detergent if needed.
    • Dry thoroughly after cleaning, especially around edges and joints.

    Care Tips:

    • Avoid allowing water to sit on cabinet edges or inside units.
    • Check and dry areas near sinks, dishwashers and plumbing regularly.
    • Do not use abrasive sponges or harsh chemicals.

Painted Ash & Oak Doors (Timber & Veneered Finishes)

Painted timber and veneer doors provide a natural, premium finish and require gentle care.

    Cleaning:

    • Wipe with a soft, damp cloth only.
    • Use mild detergent if necessary, followed by drying with a soft cloth.

    Care Tips:

    • Timber is a natural material and may react to changes in temperature and humidity.
    • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, heat sources and steam.
    • Maintain stable room conditions with adequate ventilation.

Minor variations in grain and texture are normal characteristics of natural wood and not considered defects.

    Painted HDF & MDF Doors

Painted HDF and MDF doors offer a smooth, contemporary finish and excellent durability when cared for correctly.

    Cleaning:

    • Use a soft damp cloth and mild detergent where required.
    • Dry immediately after cleaning.

    Care Tips:

    • Prevent water ingress at joints, edges and handle fixings.
    • Avoid excessive heat or steam build-up, particularly near ovens and dishwashers.
    • Do not allow moisture to penetrate damaged or chipped areas.

    Hardware & Hinges

    • Wipe hinges and drawer runners occasionally with a dry cloth.
    • Do not apply oil, grease or cleaning sprays to soft-close mechanisms.
    • Report any issues promptly to avoid further damage.

    Damage & Warranty Considerations

Damage caused by the following is not covered under warranty:

    • Incorrect cleaning products or methods
    • Excess moisture, water ingress or steam damage
    • Poor ventilation
    • Impact damage or misuse
    • Installation or handling errors

Any defects believed to be manufacturing related should be reported as soon as possible and before installation where practical.
